Associated Students for Women's Issues
Associated Students for Women's Issues is one of
three representative student bodies on
the Northern Arizona University campus. ASWI actively addresses student issues and provides
a forum to voice concerns. We are a diverse group of individuals, both male and female,
who share a common desire to work towards gender, racial, and ethnic equality and oppose
oppression of any kind. Membership in ASWI is open to all students, faculty and staff at NAU.
Please join us Wednesdays at 4:15 pm for our General Council meetings in
Havasupai A, University Union (Bldg 30).
Fem-i-nism (fem - e - niz - em) n. 1: Belief in the social, political, and
economic equality of the sexes. 2: Organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests.

Northern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault (NACASA): NACASA is a
local victim advocacy center for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. The center co-ordinates
the efforts of Law Enforcement, Victim Witness Services, medical services, Crisis Counselors, and provides

Northland Family Help Center: The mission of Northland Family Help Center is to
reduce the incidence of all forms of family and relationship violence and to promote the development of healthy
families and individuals in Northern Arizona. We are committed to providing safe shelter, counseling, advocacy,
community education and referral for individuals and families affected by violence and abuse. 2501 North 4th

Kateri Services Support for Women in Transition; The mission of Kateri Services
is to provide recovery, advocacy, and support services to women and their children who are transitioning from

PRISM
PRISM at Northern Arizona University is an officially recognized organization
aimed at creating a social, educational and political environment for NAU's
Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Community. First formed back in 1986, PRISM at NAU (then the Gay Academic Union)
has grown to include hundreds of members. In addition to providing educational resources such as panels,
forums, and speakers, they also operate the LBGA at NAU Resource Center which houses various books, magazines,

National Organization for Women (NOW)
The National Organization for Women (NOW) is the largest organization of feminist
activists in the United States. NOW has 500,000 contributing members and 550 chapters in all 50 states and the District
of Columbia.
Feminist Majority Foundation (FMF)
An organization dedicated to women's equality, reproductive health, and non-violence.
